Mystery noises reported in Hartlepool
POLICE have confirmed they are not investigating any reports of “loud banging” noises which have been reported across the Tees Valley.
A number of people reported hearing loud noises throughout the day, though it was unclear where they were coming from.
One reader contacted the Mail to say: “I was walking along the front at Seaton Carew and the banging was really loud.
“A lot of people were commenting on it, we were wondering if it was an earthquake or some sort of tremor.”
Cleveland Police had similar reports, but were not carrying out any form of investigation.
Similar calls were made from people across east Cleveland, and it is thought the noises could be linked to work being carried out on the new offshore wind farm near Redcar.
