ONE photograph was all it took for Hartlepool mum Claire Wallace to change her life.
When she saw herself in a size 18 outfit, she decided she had to act.
But Claire did much more than just embark on a dietary regime. She set up her own business and is now encouraging others to join her programme.
Anyone who joins can support charity, as the commission from sales of the weight-loss product will help two-year-old Bradley Lowery, who is battling rare childhood cancer neuroblastoma.
Claire, 29, became the franchise-holder for the weight-loss brand Vi and set up her own company within it, called Pinch An Inch.
Nine months later, by March last year, she was down to a fantastic size eight and had slimmed down from 14st 3lb to 9st 3lb.
The mum of four-year-old Charlie, from the Whin Meadows area of Hartlepool, realised she had to change after gaining weight when she became a mum. She put on three stone.
She said her whirlwind life involved missing breakfast, not eating properly at lunchtime and overloading on carbs at night.
She would have a pre-packed meal, pasta, a bar of chocolate, and toast.
But she changed it all for the Vi range which includes shakes and healthy cookies, as well as healthy food such as chicken, salmon and rice.
She combines that with three trips to the gym each week.
“There was one photograph of me which made me want to change my life. I was shocked when I realised how large I was,” said Claire, a former legal worker who now sells the Vi products through the Bellissima beauty salon, in Murray Street, run by Joanne Evans.
She researched the best way to lose weight and also took advice from her friend Anna Parkin, the house co-ordinator on the television hit Geordie Shore.
Anna told her about the Vi range and Claire, who is married to 29-year-old RAF rigger Jason, signed up as a franchise holder.
Joanne said: “I think Claire is amazing. What she is doing is fantastic.”
And Anna agreed saying: “She is so inspirational.”
