Pervert terrified woman

A WOMAN was left terrified after a man shouted sexual words and gestured towards her in the street.

The 21-year-old Hartlepool woman was targeted by the pervert in Dent Street, Hartlepool, behind the former Odeon cinema.

The man shouted and gestured towards the woman from a stationary dark blue saloon, after which she ran off to get help feeling “distressed and frightened”, say police.

Officers have today released a description of the man who is described as white, around 30-years-old, with a bald head, clean shaven and wearing a pale blue T-shirt and black jogging bottoms.

A man matching this description was seen on Cameron Road at around 6pm.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “Police are appealing for information following an incident in which a man shouted sexually explicit words and gestured towards a lone woman.

“The 21-year-old woman was very distressed and frightened by the incident and ran off to get help.”

Anyone with information or any witnesses to the incident, which happened at around 5pm on Wednesday, are asked to contact PC Claire McMahon at York Road Neighbourhood Policing Office, in Hartlepool, on the non-emergency 101 number or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
