A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was found with a head injury in Hartlepool.
Police were called to Eskdale Road, in the Owton Manor area of Hartlepool, at 12.20am on Sunday where the victim had suffered a wound to his head.
He was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, for treatment.
Officers arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder and a 25-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police today issued an appeal for any witnesses to the incident to come forward to help officers with their investigations.
She said: “Police were called to an address at Eskdale Walk, in Hartlepool, at 12.20am, on Sunday, July 20, to a report of a man with a head injury.
“He was taken to North Tees General Hospital for treatment.
“A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.”
Inquiries are ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101.
