SWIMMING pools at a popular leisure centre have re-opened after they were closed to allow essential maintenance work.

The main pool and learner pool at Mill House Leisure Centre, in Raby Road, had been closed since Christmas Eve, but re-opened yesterday.

Craig Mitchelson, of Mill House Leisure Centre, said they needed to drain the main pool to carry out essential cleaning work at the shallow end, which meant a temporary closure was necessary.
