Craig's medal win comes just five years after his life hung in the balance following a bomb blast while serving in Afghanistan in December 2011.

The 23rd Pioneer Regiment soldier lost both his legs when he slipped on wet ground and landed on a live bomb.

After five months in hospital, he fought back, learning to walk on prosthetic legs. He won a Hartlepool Mail Local Hero Award in 2013.

As well as basketball, Craig also competed in the individual shot-put event in the Games, and finished 12th in the heats.
