Six-week consultation deadline looms

CAMPAIGNERS have just six days to air their views about under-fire post offices in Hartlepool as part of a public consultation.

Town mayor Stuart Drummond has called for everyone to rally round and fight the proposed closures.

He has spoken of how the threatened branches are a 'lifeline' to countless people and must be saved from closure. The six-week consultation comes to an end on Wednesday, March 26, and all the post offices affected have posters explaining the situation to customers.

To express your views about the proposed closures write to:

Adrian Wales, Network Development Manager, Post Office Ltd, c/o National Consultation Team, Freepost Consultation Team.

Alternatively, residents can express their concerns by emailing consultation@postoffice.co.uk or by calling the customer helpline

on (08457) 223344.

It's not too late to save the three post offices in Hartlepool from closing and you can add your signature to the Mail's petition.

Petition forms can be found at the Mail's head office reception, with street vendors and at shops in the town.

You can also add your support at www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk or email at mail.news@northeast-press.co.uk
