A SANTA fun run in aid of a town’s ho, ho, hospice is expected to rake in a whopping £5,000.
Over 240 runners turned up at Ward Jackson Park, in Hartlepool, dressed in Father Christmas outfits to run a sponsored half mile.
And all of the cash raised will be donated to Hartlepool & District Hospice which organised the event.
Hospice fundraiser Greg Hildreth said this was the sixth family fun run. He said: “We had 224 runners which is a massive leap forward from last year when we had 126. In fact it’s the biggest number we’ve ever had. I’d like to thank all of the volunteers, and all of the other organisations that were involved, it was a brilliant day.”
Families also turned out to the Elwick Village Christmas fair, with some enjoying rides on a mini steam engine.
