Sports Domes open again after '˜health and safety' issue

The JD Sports Domes at Seaton Carew have reopened after being closed for two days.

The leisure facility on Tees Road which includes an indoor golf practice dome, artificial football pitches, gym and other facilities shut suddenly on Tuesday.

Businessman owner Brian Morton said it was for health and safety reasons while repairs were carried out to an underground electric cable.

Visitors to the site were being told that the domes would not reopen until Friday.

But the domes re-opened later on Thursday afternoon.

Mr Morton said: "We are open. Everything is back on, health and safety are ok with it. Hartlepool United Ladies are training tonight."
