The Northern Bygones Society and the Owton Lodge, in Hartlepool, will be working with each other again to put on a Vintage & Classic Car Show on Sunday.

There will be a number of vehicles, from a Morris 10/4 1934 to a 1954 Ferguson Tractor.

It is being held between 10am and 3pm and will also see fundraisers aiming to boost Cancer Research UK.

Staff at the pub will also be gunged to help boost the cause.

It comes after the society staged a show at Tesco last Sunday, which also helped raise cash for Diabetes UK and The British Heart Foundation.

There were vehicles dating from the 1930s to the 2000s, including MGs, Morris, Fords, British Leylands, American cars and many more.

Paul Jackson, of the Northern Bygones Society, has urged vintage and classic vehicle owners to join in the event.

He said: “Why not come along and see for yourselves a great piece of living history for you older members to the very young, and you can have a chat to the owners.

“There is also food and drink to purchase on the day. Also two members of the Sizzlers pub will be gunged by a tractor at 4pm on the day, it’s 50p a vote and all proceeds are donated to Cancer Research UK.

“If you have a vintage or classic car, come along and show it,

“However, there will be no entry of vehicles from the year 2000 onwards.”

He added: “We’ve got vehicles from just about every decade.

“They’ll bring back lots of memories for older visitors, while youngsters will really enjoy seeing how automotives have changed over the years.

“The society stages up to 15 car shows a year and Hartlepool is a hugely popular area for the society.”
