THE sun is set to be out across Hartlepool and East Durham as children enjoy their break from school in the run up to Easter.
The bright spells of weather over the weekend are set to continue as spring gets back into full swing.
Forecasters expect the North East to enjoy long periods of sunshine until Thursday, when accumulating clouds could bring the odd shower.
Day time temperatures are predicted to be in double figures and could hit 15C but thermostats could drop as low as 3C at night.
A Met Office spokesman said: “It is expected to be dry with some long sunny spells, but cloud will increase later on Wednesday. It will be rather cloudy on Thursday with perhaps a little rain at times.”
The rest of the UK is expected to enjoy similar spring weather.
