PEOPLE are being urged to take care on the roads and beware of ice.
Hartlepool has been spared any further snow overnight, while East Durham has had a fraction of what it has faced in recent days.
There are no reports of any major incidents on Hartlepool’s roads and the A19, A689 and A179 remain open.
There have not been any reports of school closures in Hartlepool or East Durham and gritters have been out on major routes.
Forecasters say light snow is expected in Hartlepool and East Durham this morning and temperatures are not expected to rise much above freezing.
