A TEENAGER has been sentenced to three years detention today for a shocking sex attack on a schoolgirl.
The 16-year-old youth, who cannot be identified, and a second boy raped the victim during a horrific incident.
During the attack in Hartlepool, they tied the girl to a chair, put plastic bags over her head, threatened her with a knife and forced her into a small cupboard.
The 16-year-old earlier admitted charges of rape and false imprisonment.
Sentencing him at Teesside Crown Court today, Judge Simon Bourne-Arton said the victim may never fully get over her ordeal.
The second boy, aged 15, was given four years’ youth detention in November after he admitted the same offences.
