THREE people were treated by paramedics after a crash involving two cars on a main road into Hartlepool.
Two crews from the town’s Stranton Fire Station attended the incident, which involved a van and a 4x4 and took place in Easington Road, near the Clavering estate.
Firefighters made the vehicles safe and the road was closed for a short while.
The incident happened around 9am on Tuesday and firefighters were in attendance for about 10 minutes.
A spokesman from the station said: “We were called to a report of a road traffic collision in Easington Road, in Hartlepool, just past the Clavering play park.
“This was a two-car collision involving a van and a 4x4 on the way into town.
“We made the vehicle safe and there were three walking wounded which the paramedics attended to.
“Two crews attended the incident and the road was closed temporarily, mainly for our safety.”
