Tree collection starts today
A COUNCIL collection of unwanted real Christmas trees starts today.
Hartlepool Borough Council is carrying out kerbside collections of discarded trees on a ward-by-ward basis until January 18.
All people need to do to ensure that their trees are taken away is to put them on the kerb outside their homes by 7.30am on the day of collection.
All of the trees that are collected will be taken to a local farm for composting and the finished compost will be made available to residents at future “compost giveaway” events to be organised by the council.
Kerbside collections will take place on the following dates:
l De Bruce Ward – today;
l Headland & Harbour Ward – Tuesday, January 8;
l Jesmond Ward – Wednesday, January 9;
l Victoria and Burn Valley wards – Thursday, January 10;
l Foggy Furze Ward – Friday, January 11;
l Seaton Ward – Monday, January 14;
l Fens & Rossmere Ward – Tuesday, January 15;
l Manor House Ward – Wednesday, January 16;
l Hart Ward (includes Hart Village) – Thursday, January 17;
l Rural West Ward (includes Dalton Piercy, Elwick and Greatham villages) – Friday, January 18.
