Trial set after charge denied
Dave McLuckie
A FORMER police authority chairman has denied perverting the course of justice.
Former chairman of Cleveland Police Authority Dave McLuckie will go on trial at Newcastle Crown Court later this year.
It was alleged that the 51-year-old persuaded a man named Maurice Ward to accept responsibility for an endorsable road traffic offence in 2005.
The Redcar and Cleveland councillor denied the charge during a short hearing at Newcastle Crown Court and the case was adjourned until June 10.
