RUGBY players as young as five can make the most of free sessions starting this weekend.
Hartlepool Rugby Club, in Easington Road, is launching the free weekly tag, touch and contact sessions for youngsters.
Club bosses say the sessions have been launched to promote teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship for the children taking part.
The sessions are aimed at boys and girls aged between five and 12 and youngsters of all abilities are welcome along.
The children don’t need to have any experience of playing rugby.
The first session will be held this Sunday, September 1 from 10.30am.
Stewart Hind, director of rugby at Hartlepool Rugby Club, said: “The sessions will be fun-packed for youngsters and an enjoyable introduction into rugby.
“Hopefully we will have a good turn out and the youngsters will enjoy playing the game and come back week after week.”
The sessions will last around an hour.
Anyone who is interested in attending the sessions or for more information can call the rugby club on (01429) 266445 or contact Stewart Hind on 07854869975 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
