Twenty years and going strong

A CHEMICAL company will mark its second decade in business by raising money for worthy causes.

This year will be 20 years since the first granule was produced at Hartlepool-based firm Exwold.

The company, based in Brenda Road, has continued to go from strength to strength.

It provides contract chemical processing and formulation to crop protection markets, and employs 67 people across four manufacturing sites.

To celebrate the landmark, and to thank the local community for their support over the years, bosses have decided to make 2013 Exwold’s “Year of Charity”.

Commercial director, Sam Price said: “When deciding how to celebrate this important year, we wanted to acknowledge the contribution of our hardworking, loyal employees and ensure that events organised represented the core values and attributes of the company.”

He said the company was proud of its Teesside heritage, and added: “By dedicating this anniversary year to fundraising, we have an opportunity to contribute to the local community and hopefully make a difference in the lives of our employees’ family and friends.”

Mr Price said Exwold could not support all the worthwhile charities locally and asked its workforce to nominate their favourite.

He said the two nominated causes would be announced early this year, as well as the planned fundraising events.
