Ultimate gesture secures Taylor's future
BIG-HEARTED bosses at a security company have revealed why they handed over a huge donation to the Taylor Stallard Appeal.
And as they gave 1,000 to the cause, company chiefs at Ultimate Security said: "Taylor needs it more than we do."
The Hartlepool firm came up with the biggest total yet to be given to the cause which will help to buy a Wizzybug wheelchair for Taylor.
Kevin Richardson is one of two directors of the Raby Road firm – which employs 70 security guards – along with Richie Hughes.
He told the Mail: "We are doing well as a business but even if we weren't we would still have given this money.
"With causes like this, it does not harm to give a few pounds."
Ultimate Security's generous donation pushed the appeal target beyond the 2,800 total we needed. In fact, our campaign total now stands at 4,000.
It means we can now order the Wizzybug, which three-year-old Taylor needs to make her quality of life so much better.
The town company is going from strength to strength despite the credit crunch and has had to take on two extra staff. Its work includes mobile patrols, guardwork and concierge work.
Mr Richardson said the business was going strong as more security men were needed to guard building sites. But Ultimate Security also gave money to a pensioner who had been robbed and also fitted a new alarm to her home.
The firm also supports numerous charities each year. Taylor, who lives off Raby Road, is on a daily supply of oxygen to cope with chronic lung disease.
She also has no immune system to fight off infections.
She spends eight months of the year at the Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary, where she has already had a dozen operations.
As well as the wheelchair, the extra money raised by our readers will go towards Crawford House, which is the home within the grounds of the RVI where Taylor's family stay while she receives treatment.
