Warm weather is on the way for Hartlepool and East Durham

TEMPERATURES are set to rise as the weather picks up in Hartlepool and East Durham.

The mercury was set to rise today as forecasters predicted temperatures as high as 16C and the wind was expected to reach up to 16mph.

But rain was expected this evening and was due to continue into tomorrow morning.

When the rain clears there will be sunny spells throughout the day tomorrow, with temperatures rising to 14C and winds reaching up to 14mph.

Light showers were expected late morning on Wednesday, with temperatures rising to 14C and winds topping 17mph.

On Thursday light showers are expected from lunchtime to early evening, as temperatures again reach 14C and wind speeds reaching a high of around 13mph.

The sun was expected to rise at 5.18am today and set tonight at 8.46pm.
