MORE rain is on the way in the week ahead according to weather forecasters.

The outlook for Hartlepool and East Durham is for more rainfall than last week but temperatures will still be pleasantly mild according to the Met Office.

Their forecast for the next four days expect today to feel the warmest with temperatures reaching 18C later this afternoon.

But we could be in for a brief shower at the same time.

Tuesday should start off mild and dry but showers are expected between bursts of sunshine in the afternoon and evening.

Temperatures will range between 13C to 16C on Wednesday with more showers expected during the day and into the night.

But the wettest day of the week is set to be Thursday when rain is forecast all throughout the day.

Temperatures will remain at 15C or 16C but will feel cool.

A Met Office spokesman said: “Thursday looks set to become cloudy with rain spreading across from the east and feeling cool in strong northerly winds.”
