Witnesses sought to pub attack
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a serious assault at a pub.
Officers from Peterlee CID’s serious crime team say two men were attacked during the disturbance at The Village Inn, in Sunderland Road, Easington Village.
One of the victims needed hospital treatment for a serious facial injury.
The incident happened around 10.30pm on December 23, but police have only just issued an appeal for witnesses.
It comes after a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.
He was bailed pending further inquiries.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the pub that night.
