EMERGENCY services were called when a car crashed into a wall early on Monday morning.

Police, ambulance and fire services were called to the junction of Northgate and Durham Street, on Hartlepool’s Headland, after a blue Ford C-Max collided with a wall near the Pricewatch store.

The incident happened around 6.10am and no other vehicles were involved.

Police say the 47-year-old female driver was uninjured, though an ambulance did attend.

A crew from Stranton Fire Station was also sent to the scene to swill away a fuel spillage after the crash, at 8.10am, but was not needed.
