Women injured after two-car crash at busy junction

TWO women were injured in a two-car collision at a busy junction.

Firefighters helped the two middle-aged women travelling in a Renault Clio before they were attended by paramedics.

The collision happened at the Warren Street lights, in Horden, close to the junction with Yoden Way, in Peterlee.

It involved the Clio and a Nissan Micra and it is not thought that the occupants of the Micra were seriously hurt.

Police, fire and ambulance services attended the incident, which happened around 12.45pm on Friday.

The women were treated by paramedics at the scene.
