TEARS rolled down the cheeks of mourners as emotional tributes were paid to “confident” and “caring” Mark Denton.
Mark and his girlfriend, Sarah Kinnie, were planning to move in together this year.
A touching tribute read out on behalf of Sarah said: “I will try and do you proud by looking after your mam and dad, Craig, Donna and the kids.
“I will encourage them to celebrate your life rather than mourn your death.
“It’s been a privilege to call myself your girlfriend - although it must be said you could be a bit of a nuisance.
“I loved you from day one and I will love you for ever. You will always be my number one.
“Rest in peace until we meet again.”
A poignant poem in the eulogy signed off by Mark’s brother Craig, 32, read: “It broke my heart to lose you, but you didn’t go alone.
“Part of me went with you, the day God took you home.”
Minister Volney Ham-Ying said: “Mark was a Hartlepool lad.
“He was the life and soul of the party.
“He loved travelling and took holidays with his family and friends.
“And as well as being proud of his boxing achievements, he was proud of all of his family.”
