LOUISE Kennedy has a very specific aim with her human resources business – to “grow, grow, grow”.

And she is hoping that her aims get the ideal lift-off by winning the Keys To Success competition, run by the Hartlepool Mail in conjunction with UK Steel Enterprise.

Mother-of-two Louise, 36, has her own company called Occulus HR. It provides human resources advice, consultancy and hands-on support and Louise has the ideal background for the job.

She worked as an HR manager for an automotive company before being made redundant.

Now, she runs her own firm which, has “a virtual office.”

Louise, a member of the Tees Valley Business Club, hopes to convert that into a real base by winning our competition.

She said: “This competition would be a crucial step for me. It would provide space, structure and freedom to grow. My goal is to think big and aim big. This office would give me the additional tools to make this happen.”

Louise is married to Edward Kennedy, 41. They have two children, Jack, aged nine, and Thomas who is five years old.

Her aims for Occulus include taking on extra workers, providing support to different businesses, establishing support through networking, and introducing seminars on employment law.

Occulus was first set up in May last year. Louise, originally from Sunderland and whose business is currently based in Durham, has 13 years experience in human resources, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personal Development.

She wants to provide a “bespoke service to clients” and offer advice and support, from monthly meetings to consultancies.

One lucky entrepreneur will win an office in Hub Two at Hartlepool’s Innovation Centre, on the Queens Meadow Business Park, free for a year.

The winner can move straight into a 200 sq ft premises which can accommodate three people. It is furnished with office desks, chairs and accessories. The winner will pay no rent, rates, lighting or heating bills for 12 months.

There’s still time for more people to enter Keys to Success. More details are available at www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk. Entries should be sent to chris.cordner@jpress.co.uk.
