A 51-year-old man escaped with a minor head injury after the car he was driving clipped a stationary vehicle and then flipped on to its roof earlier today.
Police said the driver was travelling along Jesmond Road in Hartlepool when the Ford Mondeo he was driving hit a Vauxhall Corsa, which was parked at the side of the road.
Police, fire and ambulance services attended the scene at 6.35am today.
Paramedics treated the Mondeo driver at the scene after he sustained a “slight head injury”, said police.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “We received reports that a car was overturned near to Jesmond Primary School, in Jesmond Road, Hartlepool. A silver Ford Mondeo had clipped a stationary Vauxhall Corsa and rolled on to its roof.
“The Mondeo driver was out of the vehicle when police arrived and was walking around with a slight head injury.”
l POLICE have launched an appeal for witnesses to a three-vehicle smash that saw a 78-year-old man airlifted to hospital.
The smash happened at 10.40am on Friday in Marsh House Avenue, Billingham, at the junction with Seal Sands Road.
It involved a red Kia Picanto, which the pensioner was driving, a blue Fiat Punto, and a stationary heavy goods vehicle.
