Mail campaign steps up a gear

WE’VE stepped up the pace on our campaign to show pride in Hartlepool.

This group of Nordic walkers were keen to support the new Proud To Be A Poolie initiative.

They posed with copies of the Proud To Be A Poolie poster before setting off on one of their regular Nordic walking sessions, which sees participants taking part in the new craze from Scandinavia where they walk using specially adapted sticks.

They are the latest backers of the campaign to shout out about the town no matter where you are – whether it is close to home or thousands of miles away.

Others include Hartlepool Mayor Stuart Drummond and delegates on a course where they learned about the importance of promoting tourism in Hartlepool and the Tees Valley

Why not join the growing trend?

All we want you to do is pick up a copy of our new poster from the Hartlepool Mail reception which contains the slogan Proud To Be A Poolie.

Or, why not visit our website at and click on the link on the home page to download and print a copy.

Then, take your poster with you whenever you go on holiday or go away for a short break.

Have your photograph taken with the poster and send it to us so that we can publish it – and show that you have helped to spread the Hartlepool word.

So come on readers, get your copy of the brand new poster and get snapping.

Then send us the photographic evidence and we will do the rest.

Send your photos to the Mail newsdesk, Hartlepool Mail, New Clarence House, Wesley Square, Hartlepool, TS24 8BX, or email them to
