Have your say

RESIDENTS and businesses across east Durham are invited to a series of meetings that will give them a say on important developments in their neighbourhoods.

Durham County Council’s most important regeneration document, The County Durham Plan, is to be open to public consultation.

The plan, designed to revive the county’s economic fortunes, includes proposals for a possible new railway stop in Horden.

Meetings are planned for Tuesday, May 31, at Peterlee Library, in Burnhope Way and Blackhall Library, both from 2pm-4pm.

On June 3, Horden Library will host a further consultation event from 5pm-7pm.

In addition public exhibitions will be staged in various venues across the county over the six-week consultation period.

Each exhibition will run for two weeks and at advertised points during this period, planning officers will be on hand to answer questions.

People can also take part online via the Have Your Say section of the council’s website www.durham.gov/consultation.
