A 29-year-old man is in a critical but stable position in hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest in Hartlepool today.

The man was airlifted to hospital after the Great North Air Ambulance were called to Greenock Road, Owton Manor at 9.36am.

It is thought that he had collapsed in his garden.

The GNAAS doctor and paramedic crew anaesthetised the man before he was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, by North East Ambulance Service, accompanied by the GNAAS crew.

He arrived there in a critical but stable condition.
