A woman was taken to hospital after a two vehicle collision in Hartlepool.
The incident, in the town's Jesmond Gardens, was called in to Cleveland Fire Brigade at around 9.20pm last night.
Crews from both Hartlepool and Billingham attended the scene along with an ambulance crew and police officers. A black Ford Focus collided with a stationary Vauxhall Meriva.
One casualty, a woman, was treated at the scene by fire crew personnel before being taken to North Tees Hospital by ambulance.
She was complaining of back pain, but has since been discharged.
A male, who was driving the Ford Focus, was also checked over by paramedics after striking his head on the windscreen.
He was then arrested by police on suspicion of drink-driving, and later charged. He will appear at Hartlepool Magistrates' Court on December 2.
