Man injured in work accident

AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a worker's leg was crushed by a falling pallet.

Police were initially called to a yard at Tofts Farm Industrial Estate, Hartlepool, after reports of an industrial accident.

A 22-year-old man suffered a suspected broken ankle or leg and was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton.

Inquiries are now ongoing by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) into the incident which happened at 11.50am yesterday.
