THE body of a man was discovered in an allotment in Hartlepool.
The man was found in the allotment plot off the town’s Brierton Lane by a member of the public.
He is believed to be in his 50s and from Hartlepool.
Police were called to the scene just before 7.30pm on Saturday and are not treating the death as suspicious.
A post mortem examination is to be arranged to establish the exact cause of death, and the case will be transferred to the coroner.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “Police were called to allotments near Brierton Lane just before 7.30pm on Saturday, April 11, where the body of a man in his 50s was discovered.
“We are not treating the man’s death as suspicious at this time.
“A post mortem is to be arranged and a file has been prepared for the coroner.”
