Matched funding makes real difference to Hartlepool hospice

HOSPICE officials have thanked banks and their staff for giving great support to their charity through Matched Funding schemes.

The tribute to banks came from officials at Hartlepool & District Hospice.

When a bank employee is involved in a fundraising event they can apply to have the amount raised matched by their employer.

Staff from Barclays, Barclaycard and Santander supported events such as charity dinners, racing events, Dogs’ Big Day Out and more.

Other companies have also shown similar support including Premier Inn who increased a staff member’s Great North Run sponsorship by £750.

Hospice fundraiser, Greg Hildreth said: “It is wonderful to have the support of these banks and businesses who back their staff members’ fundraising activities. In the last year we have received over £15,000 through matched funding and would like to thank all of the individuals and companies who have made this possible. If there is anyone wishing to support the Hospice in this way we would love to hear from you.”
