CHARITIES are in line for a boost when golfers tee off to raise funds next week.
The Mayor of Hartlepool’s Charity Golf Day, in aid of local good causes, takes place next Monday at Hartlepool Golf Club.
Teams of four will battle it out over the testing 18-hole course with proceeds going towards the RNLI, Hartlepool Hospice, the Great North Air Ambulance and Miles For Men.
Among those already signed up to take part in the event are the Mayor of Stockton plus teams from local companies and organisations including Wynyard Park, Housing Hartlepool, UK Steel Enterprise, Hart Biologicals and the Mayoral Drivers’ Club.
Tee-off times are from 8am to 1pm and it costs just £40 per person or £160 per team.
Individual players will be allocated a team on arrival.
The price includes tea/coffee and a bacon butty on arrival, green fees and a two-course meal on completion of the event. There will also be prizes for the winning team and a tombola and raffle. The format for the competition will be ‘Texas scramble’.
The Mayor of Hartlepool, Councillor Stephen Akers-Belcher, said: “Last year’s event was a great success and everyone really enjoyed themselves, so I’m very grateful to Hartlepool Golf Club for making its facilities available again for what should be another fantastic day.
“It’s a great opportunity to play a quality golf course and raise money for four very worthy charities which do such a lot for Hartlepool people.”
