MORE details have emerged of a family fun day and sponsored dog walk.

Hartlepool and Seaton Carew branch of the Guide Dogs organisation has planned the event from 10am to 4.30pm on Sunday, September 1.

There’s a chance to see meerkats, alpacas and birds of prey, as well as a family funfair, a display of vintage cars, pet stalls, pet grooming, face painting and a tombola.

For pet owners, there’s a sponsored dog walk with a 1pm start as well as dog shows with categories such as cutest puppy, dog with the waggiest tail, scruffiest mutt and golden oldies.

A sensory tunnel, a try the guide dog experience (where people are blindfolded and led by a guide dog) and a chance to win vouchers for Pets At Home will also be on offer.

The Dogs Trust will be offering free dog chipping.

More than six hours of activities are promised at the event on the seafront at Coronation Drive in Seaton Carew.
