BUILDING experts have cemented a cash boost for charity as part of a nationwide campaign.
Keyline Builders Merchants, from Mainsforth Terrace, Hartlepool, set up a variety of local events to try and help raise money for The Prostate Cancer Charity.
The events that took place were sponsored walks, marathon running, charity balls and some of the staff even joined in with Movember, where they would grow a moustache,
Other members of the staff took part in the Italian Job Rally where they would travel from Northfleet, Kent to Turin, Italy, which was up to 1,500 miles.
Overall the nationwide campaign helped raise £244,068.50 for the charity.
Steve Rodgerson, branch manager at Keyline, said: “Working within the construction industry, a predominantly male-dominated industry, prostate cancer is a very real health concern for our staff, customers and suppliers.
“Everyone at the branch has really embraced the campaign and worked hard to support this worthy and relevant cause, so I would like to thank everyone for their effort and dedication.”
Owen Sharp, chief executive at The Prostate Cancer Charity, said: “Keyline has done an amazing job rasing v ital money and awareness of the disease since the start of the partnership.
“It is fantastic to see they have gone above and beyond all expectations and raised a huge £244,068.50 for the charity.
“This is clear sign of their ongoing support, dedication and commitment to helping us fight prostate cancer.”
