THE car belonging to a professional golfer who has not been seen for more than a week has been found more than 50 miles from his home.

A region-wide appeal has been launched to help find Peter Jackson, the 38-year-old Castle Eden Golf Club pro who has been missing since leaving his Seaham home at 8.20pm on November 11.

On Wednesday morning, Durham Police confirmed that the father-of-two’s grey Ford Focus C-Max car with the registration FY05 CKD, had been found in Haltwhistle, near Hexham.

A Durham Police spokeswoman said: “Police can confirm that the car of Peter Jackson has been located in the Haltwhistle area.

“Northumbria Police are conducting a search of this area.

“The family and police are appealing for anyone who may have seen Peter or have any information to come forward.”

Anyone with information on Peter’s whereabouts is urged to call the Northumbria or Durham police force on 101.
