Mobile stolen from girl

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a mobile phone was stolen from a 12-year-old girl.

The attack happened after the girl was walking with another 12-year-old in Cleveland Road, near to the Headland area of Hartlepool, when they were approached by an older girl who asked for the time.

The girl then grabbed the phone from the victim’s hand before getting onto a waiting bike and cycling off in an unknown direction.

She is described as white, 5ft 4ins-tall, of slim build and long dark brown/black hair.

She was aged between 14 and 15 and was wearing a black jacket, black trousers and brown shoes and spoke with a northern accent.

It is believed that a lot of people were in the area when the theft happened, at around 5.30pm on Sunday, March 13, and they may have witnessed the incident taking place.
