CHARACTERS from the silver screen will parade through Hartlepool for a popular fundraiser.
Supporters of Hartlepool and District Hospice are invited to get dressed as their favourite film stars for their Midnight at the Movies walk.
The movie theme is a new twist on the hospice’s previous midnight and moonlight walks which raise thousands towards the care of patients with cancer and other terminal illnesses.
Greg Hildreth, the hospice’s corporate events fundraiser, said: “We have decided to breathe new life into the event this year with the movie theme.
“We hope lots of people will come dressed up and we will have lots of music from the movies and all different things going on.
“We have had a steady uptake so far and are getting people registering almost every day.”
The event will take place at midnight on Saturday, September 20, from Hartlepool College of Further Education to Seaton Carew Golf Club and back.
It is being sponsored by Poppy’s Hairdressing and Vue cinema.
Walkers will also be given cinema style refreshments, Oscars for the best dressed man, woman, couple and group.
The hospice has also gone back to basic by holding the walk at midnight after experimenting with earlier times.
Greg added: “We have gone back to midnight due to popular demand.”
Walkers can pick up registration forms from the hospice in Wells Avenue, its charity shops and through the website at www.hartlepoolhospice.co.uk.
