A RECENTLY renovated post office got a stamp of approval after being described as a “more pleasant place to do business” by the town’s MP.

Iain Wright delivered the complimentary words after cutting the ribbon at the official opening at West View Post Office, in Brus Corner, this week.

The refurbished branch is one of the new ‘main-style’ Post Offices being rolled out in the Post Office’s Network Transformation programme which has seen nearly 900 branches across the UK modernised.

The new-look Post Office also boasts extended opening hours and is open an extra five hours on a Saturday.

Mr Wright said: “West View Post Office looks fantastic now.

“It’s a brighter, more pleasant place to do business and it’s clear that the local community values the efforts that the Post Office has made.

“The range of Post Office services on offer keeps getting better.”

Sub postmaster Terence Turner said: “People are impressed with our new bright Post Office. It’s more customer-friendly and the response has been very positive.”

The West View Post Office is open from 9am-5.30pm from Monday to Saturday.
