AN MP’s website went down after being targeted by suspected hackers.
The official site for Grahame Morris, MP for Easington, went blank suddenly on Wednesday afternoon.
Aides of the MP, who is in South America with a delegation, are trying to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
Mr Morris messaged his 4,545 followers about the problem on Twitter.
He tweeted: “Whoever has hacked my website has done a thorough job. May take a few days before normal service is resumed.”
Daniel Carden, Mr Morris’s parliamentary aide, said: “It seems to have just been totally immobilised which is very strange.
“Normally you can see some message if there is a problem but the site is totally blank.
“We are working hard on it to get it back in action.”
