Multi-million pound drugs operation ends in town

POLICE believe they have smashed an international drugs ring which has seen deadly batches of heroin shipped in from Asia on to the streets of Hartlepool.

Officers carried out a series of raids across Cleveland, Bedfordshire and Greater Manchester yesterday morning after a year-long probe into the supply of heroin.

Detectives say potentially lethal substances are travelling thousands of miles before flooding the streets of Hartlepool.
