THE victim of a sex beast who was raped, battered and locked in her own home has bravely spoken for the very first time about her horror at the hands of the monster.
Lisa Watt, 26, was raped four times by pervert Sean Johnstone and violently attacked most days during a “horrifying” ordeal which lasted years.
Today Lisa has bravely waived her right to anonymity and told the Mail about her terror – but admits she was scared to tell police about Johnstone’s gruesome behaviour at risk of him going through with threats to kill her.
After splitting up with Johnstone, she finally confided in her mum who then told police about his sickening sex attacks.
The 42-year-old, of Wharton Terrace, in Hartlepool, was locked up for 17 and a half years for 28 offences including seven rapes against Lisa, and another victim as well as four indecent assaults.
Lisa, from Hartlepool, says she was “over the moon” to see him finally brought to justice, but said the sentence will never make up for the “horrible” attacks she was subjected to.
“I know he’s in jail now which is where he belongs, but I still have nightmares about it every single night,” she said.
“Every time I go to sleep I see his face and I remember all the things he did to me.”
When Lisa first met Johnstone she said everything was alright, but it wasn’t long before things started to change.
“He was controlling and possessive and things just started to get worse,” she said.
“He raped me four times, he constantly beat me up and kept taking my money.
“He wouldn’t let me leave the house, he would lock the front door so I couldn’t get out, he always had to be in control.
“I was desperate to leave but he said if I did he would find me and kill me. It was horrible, he was a monster.”
To Lisa’s huge relief, Johnstone eventually walked out of the relationship himself – but the horror didn’t stop there.
“He would still keep coming around to my house, he still raped me even after he had left me,” she added.
Johnstone’s warped world finally started to cave in around him when his vile behaviour was reported to police.
But even when Lisa was asked to make a statement and get Johnstone hauled before the courts, she still refused at first because was she was scared of the threats he had made to her.
But in early 2011, she finally confided in her mum and told her everything, who then phoned the police.
Johnstone, who was also convicted of downloading and possessing 367 indecent photographs of children from the internet and of having extreme pornography featuring animals, was described as a “manipulative bully” with “perverted sexual desires” when he stood trial at Teesside Crown Court.
After being jailed, Judge Simon Bourne-Arton said Johnstone had targeted two vulnerable women and said he had a “deeply unhealthy interest in sexual depravity”.
Lisa is now determined to get her life back on track after living in fear for so long.
“I’m in a new relationship and we are both happy,” she said.
“I’m trying to find a job and just get on with my life as best as I can.
“He wouldn’t let me live my life, he wouldn’t let me do anything.”
