New appeal for collision witnesses

POLICE have made a fresh appeal for witnesses after a collision involving a cyclist.

The incident happened in Lister Street, at the junction with Osborne Road, in Hartlepool, on Monday at around 11.45am.

It involved a grey coloured Renault Scenic, a 26-year-old male cyclist and a Mercedes Sprinter, which was stationary at the time.

The cyclist suffered head injuries and currently remains in a stable condition in James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough.

A 42-year-old woman driving the Renault Scenic was treated for shock and was later reported for summons for driving without due care and attention.
