POLICE have made a further arrest as part of a major operation to target an international drug network.

Operation Kestrel saw officers from Cleveland Police join forces with Bedfordshire Police and Greater Manchester Police to smash a network flooding this region with Class A and B drugs.

In the early hours of Tuesday, a total of 90 officers swooped on 15 addresses across Teesside, including Minch Road, in Hartlepool, with a total of 12 arrests.

A man aged 35 and a 29-year-old woman were arrested at an address in Minch Road on suspicion of conspiracy to supply drugs and bailed pending further investigation.

As part of the operation, a 37-year-old man was arrested yesterday in the Bedfordshire area on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

Meanwhile, a 26-year-old man who was arrested on Tuesday as part of raids in the Cleveland force area has been charged with conspiracy to supply Class B drugs.

He is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on a date to be fixed.
