A NEW appeal has been launched to help trace missing dad three weeks after he vanished.

Dad-of-three Darren, 36, was last seen at around 5.30pm in the Rossmere area of Hartlepool on Sunday, January 9, and was reported missing on Wednesday, January 12.

Darren’s three daughters, Kayleigh, 16, Ellie, eight and Leah, five, his ex-wife and close friend Lisa Gleaves, and mum Kathleen Waller are urging him to let them know he is safe and well and are asking residents of Hartlepool and beyond to contact police if they have seen Darren.

Detective Inspector Anne-Marie Salwey, of Hartlepool Police, said: “We would urge anyone who may have seen Darren to come forward or Darren himself to get in contact with someone he knows to let them know he is safe and well.”

Darren is described as 5ft 8inches tall, white, with a shaved head and tattoos on his hands and arms.

There have been a number of unconfirmed sightings of Darren since his disappearance, the latest being that he may have narrowly missed being hit by a Skoda taxi after stumbling into the road.

The near-collision on Friday, January 14, took place in the Lancaster Road/Powlett Road area of Hartlepool.

The man involved was wearing a blue hooded top, dark bottoms and trainers and had a scarf around his face.
