A REVAMPED and extended sports shop is set to create up to 17 new permanent and temporary new jobs in line with its re-opening on Monday.
JD Sports will create two new permanent jobs when it re-opens in a, extended unit in Hartlepool’s Middleton Grange Shopping Centre.
The shop chain is also set to create 10 to 15 temporary jobs for the Christmas period.
The shop, which is next door to McDonald’s in the main square, has been closed over the last couple of months while work took place on its extension.
But, the store will mark the re-opening with a celebration next Saturday.
A live DJ will play throughout the day and staff will be handing out free JD stocking fillers and giving people the chance to win free pairs of trainers.
A spokesman for the new Hartlepool JD store said: “We are all looking forward to the opening day.
“The new store has created new jobs, which is another great point, especially at this time of year.”
