WORK has begun on the installation of new welcome signs at the most popular beach access points to Durham’s Heritage Coast.
A waymaker is to be positioned at the entrance to Crimdon Beach.
It will feature designs from a local artist, which has been inspired by the coast.
A similar piece is being installed further up the coast at Seaham.
Durham Heritage Coast Officer Niall Benson said: “These new waymarkers will inform and inspire the many local people and visitors who walk the coastal footpath each year and are expected to be completed in around two weeks’ time.”
