THE pride of the local beat is being sought for six police awards.
People have the chance to nominate community officers and teams for the annual Cleveland Police Neighbourhood Policing Team Awards.
It is the third year that the force and authority have organised the event to highlight the work of local officers, police staff and volunteers who have gone the extra mile to serve their local communities.
Nominations can be made in six different categories:
l Neighbourhood Police Officer of the Year;
l Neighbourhood Police Community Support Officer of the Year;
l Neighbourhood Special Constable of the Year;
l Neighbourhood Volunteer of the Year;
l Neighbourhood Team of the Year;
l Neighbourhood Officer Best at Tackling Anti-social Behaviour.
Nominations for any of the categories can be made in writing to Cleveland Police Authority, Freepost NEA 3893, Middlesbrough, TS8 9BR, stating your name and contact details, the name of the person or team you are nominating and your reason for nomination.

The closing date for nominations is Friday, March 9 and the awards ceremony will take place towards the end of May.
